Recently the Immigrant Rights Committee took part in the Family Community Event at the Veterans Memorial Family School in Camden. We made connection with many wonderful, local organizations that members might want to check out and/or donate to. These are listed below:

  • Center for Family Services: Center For Family Services is a leading non-profit social services provider with a long-standing history of trusted care and a mission to support and empower individuals, families, and communities to achieve a better life through vision, hope, and strength.  (Website)
  • The Free Books Project: The Free Books Project is proud to give the people of Camden, NJ literacy continuity and act as a life-line of sorts for books and belonging. (Website)
  • Movimiento Tricolor (MTC): Engage in a variety of activities including advocating for the economic prosperity by uniting Latino business owners, offering scholarships, mentorships, and hands-on learning experiences to support students and professionals in achieving their academic and career goals, running a Cultural Youth Music Program, and being a leading force in promoting Dominican culture in South Jersey (Website)
  • Wholesome Riches: Wholesome Riches works with students, families, school partners, and community leaders to identify needs in the community and build a system of support to meet those needs. They host up to 7 food events monthly, providing food access to 12,000 families each year. (Website)
  • Parents Invincible: A group that represents parents across the city of Camden to help make informed choices about education in the city. (Website)
  • Jefferson Health: Jefferson Health had representatives on hand to inform residents about the NJ Save Program which is run by the state of NJ. This program has an online application to help low-income older adults and individuals with disabilities save money on Medicare premiums, prescription costs, and other living expenses.
